Like Evelyn Thompson asked about the lens and distance, I too would like to know about the image so I am sure what I am looking at. Is it a composite photo? Is this a captive animal? Was a flash used? To really understand an image and learn, it would be nice to have some basic info like Evelyn asked re lens and distance, captive versus wild, etc. Thanks Nick. Enjoy your gallery as you are a fav of mine. #5571018Joy Rector February 29, 2008

Nick, thx for the info, but I'm still wondering about this lighting. You said you did not use a flash, yet the background indicates that it is night, or close to it. If not a flash, how was the body of the eagle lit up?Also, raptors are so wary of people. Not only is this eagle close to you to begin with, it is actually flying toward you as it prepares to land, not away from you like it is alarmed. The lens you used was not a strong telephoto. Being around raptors for 30 years, I can't figure out the behavior here. Where is the eagle headed? Lot's of people love this image, like I do, but I am surprised only Evelyn and I asked any questions. I'm sure many wish they knew how this was done. Thx #5576017
